Box Score Cochran, Ga. - The Fire improve to 5-0 on the season after a 2-1 win over Middle Georgia State University. Southeastern's offense poised a dangerous threat throughout the entire game, outshooting the Knights 31-9.
Alyssa Kaminski had the golden touch for the Fire, scoring both of the team's goals. The first goal came in the 20th minute of the game off of an assist from Shayna Cole. The entire Fire offense contributed to the contest. Eight of the Fire's 11 players recorded a shot in the game. Even though Southeastern appeared to have total command of the game, the Knights, on behalf of Sam Silva, found the equalizer just 53 seconds into the second half. The Knights' goal, however, did not slow down Kaminski or the Fire attack. In the 53rd minute of the contest, Kaminksi struck again, this time with an assist from Rebecca Reynolds. The Knights attempted to tie the game, but Syndi Brookhouser stood strong in goal, saving 4 of 5 shots that she encountered.
Southeastern played a physical game, committing eight fouls, which resulted in 2 yellow cards. The Fire's physical play led to the team gaining possession and creating multiple scoring opportunities.
