Lakeland, Fla. - The Fire are set for their first two games of the year where they will look to carry over the same intensity they displayed in their first two preseason scrimmage matches.

Notable Fire Returners: Alyssa Kaminksi, who in ten games played, scored seven goals and had a total of 15 points on the year, will be back in action. Also returning for the 2016 season are
Karly Palmar and
Heidi Ruth. Palmar started in all 17 games last year and totaled 11 points. Ruth played in all 17 games as a freshman and logged 42 shots on the year, 19 of which were on goal. Others returning for the Fire include, Shyna Cole and
Sydni Brookhouser.
Last Time the Fire Met Ave Maria: The Fire traveled down to Ave Maria where they won by a score of 2-0.
Kaitlyn Romero was the winning goalkeeper with four saves in the game. Ave Maria returns a couple of key pieces to their team, one being Alexia Mazzoccone. Mazzaccone was the catalyst for the Gryenes last year, scoring eight goals and totaling 18 points. Another piece to the Ave Maria attack is Sarah McBride, who in her freshman season, scored seven goals and tallied up 16 points. Ave Maria will have one game under their belt before seeing the Fire on August 27
th.
About Columbia International: The Rams did not play the Fire last year, but before entering the game on August 29
th, Columbia International will have two games underneath their belt. Columbia International returns two pieces to their attacking front, Angela McMaster, and Alanna Batterman. Both women combined for ten of the team's 19 goals last year and totaled 13 points apiece. Columbia International will also return their goalkeeper, Angel Simpson, who made 73 saves in 978 minutes played.
