LAKELAND, Fla. – Southeastern softball secured three wins this weekend at the springbreaksoftball.com NAIA weekend. With one loss added to that equation, they moved to 4-2 on the season.
Friday began with a 2-0 loss to Middle Georgia State then they turned things around to take down Martin Methodist 5-2. The Fire had six hits distributed between six batters in game one but left five stranded.
Brandee Pietrzak was 3-for-4 in game two with an RBI and
Anna Martin was 2-for-4 with an RBI triple.
Emily Bryant suffered the loss against Middle Georgia State despite giving up just four hits and striking out four.
Lindsie Scholwinski took game two with nine strikeouts in 31 batters and gave up no earned runs.
Day two proved more eventful as the Fire defeated Cumberland 8-1 then Edward Waters 12-2 in six innings. They racked up 12 hits in each game for a .407 team average on the day.
Cat Maldonado was 5-for-6 in two games with a 3-for-3 effort against Cumberland.
Taylor Stoltz and
Bri Girardin were 3-for-4 in the same game, while
Anna Martin went 2-for-4 against Edward Waters with a home run and three RBI's.
Sydnie Malloy also impressed with a 3-for-3 effort at the dish.
Scholwinski secured her second win of the weekend against Cumberland. She struck out nine, for 18 total K's on the weekend, and allowed just five hits in 26 batters. Maldonado was responsible for the win over Edward Waters. In five innings she allowed five hits, one earned run and struck out five.

Davenport University, Saturday at 3 p.m., National Training Center, Clermont, FLLast Year: 42-10, 15-3 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference…Swept a doubleheader with SEU winning, 8-3 in both games…#1 seed in postseason and beat #4 Michigan-Dearborn in the championship game…Bowed out of NAIA opening round with a 4-0 loss to Auburn University at Montgomery.
This Year: 2-1…Most recently beat Grace 9-0 after losing to Martin Methodist 6-1…Ranked 13
th in NAIA in opponent batting average with .200 and 18
th in stolen bases per game with two…Led by senior catcher Sarah Schneidenbach who is hitting .500 with a .565 on base percentage…Pitcher Emily Maves is 2-0 with a 0.58 ERA and 22 strike outs.
