MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.—Trailing by two with 13 seconds to go, the Fire bench drew up a play to give them a chance to win the game.

Matt Crowe, who calmly knocked down a 3-point jumper with 1.2 seconds to play to give Southeastern a 79-78 win over St. Thomas.
Southeastern (11-6, 1-3 TSC) trailed 73-59 with 5:59 left in the contest, but the Fire came fighting back with a 13-0 run to make it a one-point game with 2:10 left. Seven of those points came off the hand of
Larry Taylor, who finished the night with 23 points, three rebounds, two assists, and a block.
With 26 seconds to go, it appeared that
Jake Hodges tied the game with a jumper from the far corner, but the officials ruled his foot on the arc, bringing the Fire within a point. A free throw by the Bobcats with 14 seconds to go made it 78-76, and set up Crowe's heroics.
The Fire trailed by as many as 16 with 16:28 to play in the contest, but a 10-0 run by SEU got it back into the contest.
During the second half, the Fire shot 50% from the field and knocked down 10-of-13 at the free throw line.
Caleb Konieczny was the catalyst in the first half, scoring 16 of his game-high 23 points during the first 20 minutes. The senior finished the night with his first double-double, adding a career-high 11 rebounds.
Hodges added 13 points and seven rebounds.
The Fire return to action on Tuesday when they host Ave Maria at 8 p.m.
