Women's Basketball to Open 2016

LAKELAND, Fla. – Southeastern women's basketball concluded 2015 with their fourth consecutive win on December 19th and will take the court for the first time in the new year tonight against Viterbo University.
 
After taking down University of St. Francis at The Furnace on December 12th the Fire set out on a three-game road trip and stopped first in Mount Vernon, Georgia on the 14th. There, Alyssa Ramos scored her 1,000th career point in an 87-58 win over Brewton Parker College. She notched a total of 15 on the night and was 5-10 from beyond the arc
 
Three days later in Milwaukee, Wisconsin the Fire took down #6 Cardinal Stritch University 77-72 for the first win over a Top 10 team in program history. Christin Strawbridge recorded her fifth double-double of the season that night with the game high 18 points and 10 boards.
 
Their last stop was Chicago, Illinois where they defeated Robert Morris University 77-76 before returning home for the holidays. Strawbridge led the Fire once again with 20 points. Ramos, Bailey Hooker, and Carlie Newman followed up with 11, 12, and 13, respectively.
 
The Fire look to build on their four game win streak as they take on Viterbo this evening then kick off the bulk of Sun Conference play on Wednesday and Friday against Warner and St. Thomas.
