Gyrenes and Night Hawks Next for Men's Basketball

LAKELAND, Fla. – Southeastern men's basketball comes off a 1-1 Sun Conference week and looks to regain momentum heading into matchups with Ave Maria and Thomas this week.

After leading for all but 11 seconds of regulation, the Fire fell to #10 Warner in overtime, 81-70 to kick off the week. The loss snapped a four-game win streak and set them back to 0-3 in The Sun Conference. Jake Hodges led the Fire with 20 points and was 8-for-15 from the field. Warren Hall carried the Royals with the game high 33 points.

Two days later, with 1.2 seconds to play against St. Thomas, a Matt Crowe long ball salvaged the week and helped the Fire to their first TSC win of the season, 79-78. Crowe ended the night with five points, three assists, and two rebounds. With 23 points apiece, Caleb Konieczny and Larry Taylor led all scorers while Konieczny added 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season.
