LAKELAND, Fla. – Southeastern women's basketball is on a seven-game win streak and looks to add two more this week with games against Sun Conference opponents Ave Maria University and Thomas University.
The Fire added their tenth win of the season last week in a 54-29 win over Viterbo University then moved to 12-3 and 3-1 in The Sun Conference with back-to-back wins over Warner, 65-49, and St. Thomas, 74-67.
In the three wins combined, the Fire shot a collective .427 from the field, .333 from beyond the arc and .743 from the line. They out rebound opponents by an average of 6.4 boards per game and hit 21 total long balls on the week.
On the individual level,
Christin Strawbridge recorded her sixth and seventh double-doubles of the season. She notched 21 points and 13 rebounds against Warner, good for the game high in both categories. Two days later against St. Thomas, the Lakeland native performed similarly with the game high 20 points and 16 boards.
Ali Sanders also impressed shooting, .625 from the field on the week, while
Alyssa Ramos connected on 7-of-19 3-point attempts, four of which occurred in the win over St. Thomas.
