Box Score LAKELAND, Fla.—The Fire volleyball team moved to 7-3 on the season with a straight sets victory (25-12, 25-17, 25-11) over Trinity Baptist Friday night.
Southeastern finished the night with a .296 team hitting percentage with a total of 34 kills. Sophomore
Toree Anderson led the way with a season-high 11 kills and a .556 hitting percentage.
In the first set, the Fire jumped out to a 10-4 advantage, spurred in part by four consecutive service aces from
Victoria Trueheart. They closed out the set with an ace by
Kenzie Riegel, then a kill from Trueheart, who finished with eight.

After leading the second set 8-2, the Eagles (1-8) climbed back into the set with some unforced errors by the Fire, and closed the game to 13-11. After a timeout by coach
Audrey Gilbert, who coached the game barefoot in support of Samaritan's Feet, the Fire answered with a run of four straight points to take control of the set.
Freshman
Jordan Wheeler had three of her match-high five aces in the final set. The Eagles kept the final frame close, until the Fire rattled off four consecutive points, two coming on kills by Anderson. Leading 16-8, the Fire went on a 7-1 run to put the match out of reach.
Lindsey Fleming had a match-high 21 assists, and also had a match-high eight digs.
The Fire return to action on Thursday when they travel to Miami Gardens for The Sun Conference opener against St. Thomas at 7 p.m.
