LAKELAND, Fla. – Southeastern women's basketball kicked off Sun Conference play last week with an 86-58 loss to Webber followed by a 98-54 win over Johnson and Wales. This week, the Fire will face their fourth NCAA Division II opponent in Lynn University then return home for a bout with University of St. Francis who received votes in the latest NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll.
Against Webber,
Christin Strawbridge led all scorers with 26 points while
Alyssa Ramos followed up with 14. The Fire committed 19 turnovers to the Warriors' six and shot 32.3% from the field to their 45.8%.
The Fire broke their two-game losing streak on Saturday against Johnson and Wales. Ramos had the game-high 23 points and was an impressive 7-for-9 from beyond the arc.
Ali Sanders followed up with 18 points and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the line. Strawbridge also put up double digits with 14 while
Kristen Scholl and
Carlie Newman both scored 11.
In the same game, the Fire were a collective 54.1% from the field and 66.7% from beyond the arc and had 36 boards to the Wildcats' 28.
