Turnovers Cost Women's Basketball In Loss To Webber

LAKELAND, FLA.-- It was a long and frustrating evening for the Southeastern women's basketball team, as they dropped the first Sun Conference contest of the season by a score of 86-58.
 
The Fire (4-2, 0-1 TSC) couldn't get anything going on the offensive side of the ball, as they shot 32% for the game and 27% from beyond the arc.  Turnovers plagued Southeastern, as it coughed up the ball 19 times.
 
Webber (4-4, 1-0 TSC) took a a four-point lead after the first period until the Warriors outscored the Fire 22-10 in the second period to take a 42-26 lead at the half.
 
The third period proved to be a struggle for the Fire, as they didn't register a basket until the 4:50 mark.  Southeastern put up 23 points in the fourth period, but it was too little too late as the team suffered a 28-point loss on their home floor.
 
Christin Strawbridge led the scoring attack for the Fire, as she scored 26 points on 11-15 shooting to go along with seven rebounds.  Alyssa Ramos dropped 14 points of her own to go along with three rebounds and four assists.  Carlie Newman brought down nine rebounds, while Ali Sanders contributed with six assists.
 
?The team will travel down to Miami Gardens this Saturday to continue their Sun Conference schedule.  Johnson & Wales University awaits the Fire; tipoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.?
