Men's Basketball In Texas for AG Classic

LAKELAND, FLA.-- Things haven't gone according to plan so far this season for the Southeastern men's basketball team.  After being ranked as high as #14 in NAIA Division II, the Fire have fallen out of the poll during their current four-game losing streak.
Losses to West Virginia Tech, Webber International, Johnson & Wales, and St. Francis have the Fire at 5-4 this season.
Southeastern will look to right the ship as they'll travel to the campus of Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas to take part in the Holiday Classic.  It'll be a unique experience for the Fire, because all the schools involved are Assemblies of God universities.
Southeastern, host SAGU, Vanguard (California), and Evangel (Missouri) will each play two games during the Holiday Classic.  The Fire are scheduled to play Evangel Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m. Central Time.  On Friday, Southeastern and 7-1 Vanguard will face off at 5:30 p.m. Central Time.
SAGU, Vanguard, and Evangel are NAIA Division I while Southeastern is Division II.  In the latest Top 25 poll, SAGU is ranked #15, Vanguard is ranked #21, and Evangel was ranked as high as #8 before falling out of the rankings entirely.
On top of participating in the Holiday Classic, the four teams will be giving back to the community.  On Wednesday, the teams will be putting on a basketball clinic for local kids.  Former NBA players will be on hand to speak at the clinic as well.
