TAMPA, Fla.—The Fire wrestling team went a perfect 5-0 during the Cougar Duals at the Florida State Fairgrounds to claim the collegiate team title.
Southeastern had little trouble, winning all five matches by 25 points or more. Against Florida, the Fire won 43-6, thanks largely in part to forfeit wins at five weight classes.
Olson Delisca and
Ethan Owen came away with technical falls to earn bonus points.
SEU then knocked off Allen 40-9, winning three matches by pin. Owen won his match by fall in just 18 seconds, and
Tim Dinsdale and
Zech Rives also winning by fall.
In the third dual of the day, the Fire faced USF in a rematch of last Friday's home opener, and SEU came away with a 45-6 win. The Bulls had forfeits at six weight classes, and the Fire getting falls by Rives and Jose Ortiz.
Ortiz and Dinsdale each added pins in a 36-6 win over The Apprentice School. Delisca and Rives added technical falls to the winning effort.
The toughest match of the day was against UCF, which the Fire led just 12-9 in the early going. A pin by Dinsdale at 157, followed by a major decision by Frankie Jaramillo, and an overtime win by Rives got the Fire a cushion to help come away with a 37-12 win.

th at Kissimmee Osceola High School for the Fire Duals against UCF and St. Andrew's.
