Wrestling Drops First Two Duals

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.—For the first time in program history, Southeastern wrestling participated in a pair of dual meets. The competition was fierce, facing Division I Tennessee-Chattanooga, and 20^th-ranked Cumberland.
 
The Fire struggled, falling 50-0 to Chattanooga, and 40-7 to Cumberland.
 
The Mocs recorded four technical falls and three pins in 10 matches, and also had three major decisions.
 
Against Cumberland, the Fire had a little more success with Ethan Owen picking up a 5-3 decision at 133-pounds. After Aaron Wiechel lost a decision to 10^th-ranked Austin Meyn 8-4, Ryan Strickland scored a major decision at 149 with a 13-0 win over Evan Cole, which brought the Fire within a point at 8-7.
 
However, Cumberland won the remaining six matches; four by fall.
 
The Fire will return to individual competition next Saturday when they head to Rome, Georgia for the Shorter Open. Their next dual match will be their first home meet, when they host the University of South Florida on December 4^th.
