Box Score LAKELAND, Fla. – Southeastern men's basketball moved to 4-0 this afternoon with a 40-point win over the Royals of Johnson University, 106-66.
It was 7-0 at the 17:06 mark before the Royals cut the deficit to four with their first of nine long balls on the afternoon.
A 15-3 run by the Fire kicked off with 8:26 to play in the first to give them their first 14-point lead. The teams traded baskets for the final few minutes but when the buzzer sounded, the 14-point buffer stood with the Fire up 46-32.
It was downhill for the Royals from there as the Fire nearly doubled that lead just under five minutes into the second half, 67-40.
With less than a minute to play, two
Caleb Konieczny free throws gave the Fire their largest lead of the day, up 106-64, then the Royals countered with the same to put the final score on the board.
"It was a good overall effort," said Coach Rjay Barsh. "We moved the ball, we shot the ball well but we still have to be better defensively. Being 4-0 on November 14
th is what we had planned and so now we get ready for a competitive tournament in Tennessee."

Linwood Ross and
Jake Hodges each had 15 points for the team high. Hodges impressed going 5-for-7 from the arc and Ross recorded his first double-double of the season as he led the game with 10 rebounds.
Isaac Barsh and
Matt Crowe were also in double digits with 10 and 11 points, respectively.
The Fire were 57% from the field and hit 13-of-30 3-point attempts good for 43% from the arc.
Royals' forward Nick Marshall led all scorers with 19 points.
A two-week lull puts the Fire back on the court on Saturday, November 28
th against Rio Grande University at The Show, an NAIA Division II Showcase in Kingsport, Tennessee. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
