Box Score THOMASVILLE, GA.-- The Southeastern University women's soccer team went to Georgia in search of two conference victories and instead return home empty. In a tough loss, the Fire dropped a contest to the Thomas University Night Hawks, 4-2.
The Night Hawks (7-8, 4-4 TSC) took a two-goal lead in the first half, thanks in part to goals by Adrianna Johnston (18') and a penalty kick by Mackenzie Dolan (29').
The Fire (8-5, 3-4 TSC) got on the board in the 38th minute when
Bre Eldridge scored her eighth goal of the year.
In the second half, the Fire tied the game when
Shayna Cole netted her first collegiate goal (48') to even the contest at two a piece.
It looked like Fire would make things interesting at the end, but the Night Hawks pulled away with a couple late goals by Katy Hanscomb (75') and Dolan (2, 86').
"Hats off to Thomas who competed for 90 minutes," said coach
Renee Lopez. "Unfortunately we battled back for two goals but let in a few goals late and couldn't equalize."
The Fire are back in action Wednesday night as they'll host the Warner University Royals. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
