Fire Down Bees for 4th TSC Win

Box Score SAVANNAH, Ga. – Southeastern men's soccer earned their fourth Sun Conference win this evening by defeating the Bees of SCAD Savannah, 3-1.

Sophomore midfielder Camilo Mejia netted his first of the season in the 26th minute with a service from freshman Jonathan Jimenez.

Just under ten minutes later it was Jimenez's turn as he gave the Fire a 2-0 lead assisted by Corey Mills.

The Bees scored their lone goal just 12 seconds before the half time horn to make it 2-1.

Gerritson Craane revived the two point buffer less than a minute into the second half for what would be the final goal of the game.

The Fire outshot the Bees 17-10, six of which were on goal, and Fire keeper Jorge Navarrete, made three saves on the night.

"This was a big win for us," said Coach Clay Roberts. "The guys were composed the whole game and finished some great goals. It was a complete team effort for another big win in The Sun Conference. We will celebrate this win tonight and turn around to get ready for a tough game on Saturday."

The Fire (8-4, 4-1 TSC) will remain in Georgia to take on Thomas University, the reigning TSC champions, on Saturday. The Night Hawks are currently ranked seventh in the most recent NAIA Top 25 Coaches' poll and will take the pitch against the Fire at 1 p.m.
