Box Score NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla.—The Fire showed few signs of rust following a 10-day layoff in a 3-0 win over Trinity College.
In the first set, the Fire (10-5) jumped out to a 10-3 advantage, recording six kills during the run. The Fire recorded 16 total kills and a .419 attack percentage in the first set en route to a 25-12 win.
The Fire won the second set 25-15, with the Fire securing the set with a 7-1 run at the end. The Fire recorded a .257 attacking percentage with15 kills, and recorded sideouts on eight of 15 opportunities.
Lindsey Fleming served eight straight points, helping the Fire take a 15-6 lead, and coast to a 25-10 win in the final set. The Tigers (6-17) failed to record a kill in the final set, recording six errors on 19 attacks.
Leading the offense was sophomore Toree Dumas with 14 kills and a .458 attacking percentage.
Victoria Trueheart added 12 kills and a .385 attacking percentage.
Alyssa Prescott was the key distributor with 19 assists. Fleming added 11 assists, and
Hannah Kinlaw chipped in 10.
Jordan Wheeler led the back row with nine digs.
The Fire are back in action in Sun Conference play on Friday against Ave Maria at 7 p.m.
