LAKE WALES, Fla.- In a game that marked the halfway point of their season, the Fire lost a tough road match to Warner University 3-0.

Southeastern (9-6) got off to a quick start, leading 4-0, taking advantage of three attacking errors. They had two set points, leading 24-22, but the Royals scored the final four points of the set.

The second set saw SEU trail by four points, but an 8-1 run put the Fire up 10-7, before the Royals came away with a 25-22 win.

The Fire led 9-4 in the third set, but the Royals again stormed back to tie the set at 14. After that point, neither team led by more than two. The Fire had a set point chance, up 24-23, but the Royals again were able to come back and close the match with a 27-25 win.

Lydia Rooth, Madeline Hanshaw, and Lydia Rooth each had eight kills for the Fire. Katie Trenski had a team-best 14 digs. Lindsey Fleming had 16 assists, and Alyssa Prescott added 15.

The match featured a total of 29 ties and 14 lead changes.

Southeastern next takes the floor on Thursday, when they travel to Clearwater Christian.
