LAKELAND, Fla. – The Southeastern University softball team concluded the regular season with a 4-2 and 10-0 sweep over Saint Thomas University on Saturday afternoon.
Trailing 2-0 in game one, the Fire used four hits in the bottom of the fourth inning to score four runs in route to the opening game victory.
Cat Maldonado earned the win after entering the game in the second inning and throwing six shutout innings, while allowing just three hits.
The Fire pounded out 12 hits and scored 10 runs in game two to take claim the sweep over the visiting Bobcats.
Jen Hedrick and Kim Pierce had homeruns, while Hedrick and DeVyn Barker added doubles.
Up next, the Fire travel to Clermont, Fla. to compete in The Sun Conference Tournament next Thursday.
