Box Score

BRUNSWICK, Ga. –Cassidy Block's career performance this afternoon led the Fire to victory over the previously undefeated College of Coastal Georgia, 93-88.

In just under 27 minutes of play, the junior guard out of Naperville, Ill. put up a career high 25 points, shooting 73% from the field and snagging five rebounds to double her season total.

The Mariners of CCGA put the first points on the board, but a run by the Fire early in the first half would put them up 23-3 at the 11:31 mark; their largest lead of the game.

The Fire maintained the lead until the final buzzer with the Mariners inching to just a two point deficit late in the second half.

Carlie Newman followed Block in scoring, contributing 16 points and leading the team in rebounds with six, while Alyssa Ramos put up 15 points on the afternoon.

"We had a great start on both ends of the court," said Coach Jody Martinez. "This was a good win on the road against a very talented and athletic team."

A quick turnaround has the Fire at Florida College on Monday evening. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
