Box Score BRUNSWICK, Ga. – Fire men's basketball gave up triple digits this evening and fell on the road to NAIA Division I College of Coastal Georgia, 100-94.
In what looked to be an even matchup, the score was tied 11 times and the lead was traded on seven occasions. The Fire's largest lead was realized with 14:28 to play in the second half, up by six. The Mariners would work back to their largest lead of the night at 100-92 with 15 seconds remaining in the game.
Both teams shot 85% from the line and were nearly even from the field. From the arc, however, the Fire finished 37% of their attempts to the Mariners' 50%.
Fire senior Andre Winston put up 33 points for the second consecutive game and shot 94% from the line. The point guard also registered a game high eight defensive rebounds along with three steals.
Jordan McCloud trailed Winston with 22 points and two steals while Dana Thomas put up 18 points and snagged seven rebounds.
The Fire move to 1-1 on the season and hit the road to Florida College on Monday for a 7:00 tipoff.
