Box Score 2 BRUNSWICK, Ga. – After sweeping Montreat College last night at the College of Coastal Georgia Tournament, the Fire dropped two today, both by a score of 3-0.
This morning's match against NCAA Division II South Dakota School of Mines and Technology looked to be a close matchup as the Fire lost the first set just 25-21. The following two sets were less promising, however, as they only put up 13 points in the second and 18 in the third.
Against SDSMT, Lydia Rooth registered eight kills along with nine digs and three blocks, while Carol Reis had seven kills, attacking at .600, and six total blocks.
The Fire's second match against the host, #25 College of Coastal Georgia, proved less promising in the first set as they were downed 25-14. Sets two and three ended tighter, 25-21 and 25-23 respectively, as the Fire refused to go down without a fight.
This time, Reis hit for an attacking percentage of .500 with 11 kills and a dig while Alyssa Prescott led the Fire in assists with 12.
The Fire return home to face Embry-Riddle on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Furnace.
