Fire Blanked by Eagles

Box Score

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Fire were handed their second straight loss this evening, this time from Embry-Riddle, 3-0.

The Eagles of Embry-Riddle scored each of their goals in the first half, finishing in the 25th, 42nd, and 45th minutes.

"We played a decent first half," said Coach Bronson Gambale. "We came out and made a few mistakes that Embry-Riddle capitalized on."

The Fire stepped it up in the second half firing three shots and allowing zero goals on eight Eagle attempts.

"Adjustments were made in the second half. We came out physical, tough, and strong and I think we played our best Southeastern soccer ever," continued Gambale. "I believe the second half was a catalyst to what the rest of the season is going to be and I'm excited to get back to work."

In 90 minutes, Fire keeper Jessica McClernan recorded 12 saves on 22 total Embry-Riddle shots.

The Fire take the pitch again on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. against Florida College.
