Box Score

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – Coming off a conference win against Warner on Saturday, the Fire were defeated this evening by Thomas University, 4-1.

Jenny Hernandez of Thomas put the first goal on the board in the 14th minute, but was answered by Fire midfielder Bre Elridge off an assist from Becky Reynolds in the 23rd minute.

Play seemed to equalize in the first half as both teams shot four times and finished one apiece to begin the second half in a 1-1 draw.

In the final 45, Thomas shot an additional five times, to one Fire attempt, and managed three goals in the 50th, 61st, and 82nd minutes of play.

"The first half was great back-and-forth play with both teams trading blows," said Coach Bronson Gambale. "In the second, we had chances but could not find our rhythm. It was a good physical game and we continue to grow each match."

The Fire will continue their season Thursday in Daytona Beach when they take on Embry-Riddle at 4:30 p.m.
