Men’s Soccer Drops Match to Florida Memorial

Box Score

LAKELAND Fla. – The Fire suffered their third conference loss this evening after falling to the Lions of Florida Memorial, 1-0.

"This was one of our worst starts," said Coach Clay Roberts. "A lot of things happened that were against the normal characteristics that we provide."

Tied at zero at half, the Lions scored the lone goal of the match in 57th minute off the foot of Santiago Crosetti.

The Fire recorded just nine attempts to the Lions' 16 on the evening. Keeper David Danahy was credited with nine saves in 90 minutes of play.

"Florida Memorial is a great team," continued Roberts. "You give them one second to finish and they will. We weren't ourselves and we have to find a way to respond in a critical time in our season."

The Fire move to 8-4-2 on the season and 2-3-2 in conference play as they await their next match on Wednesday at Warner University.
