Alex Bell joins the Southeastern football staff as Offensive Coordinator and Wide Receivers Coach, bringing a dynamic track record of offensive production, player development, and recruiting success. A Daytona Beach, Fla. native, Bell arrives at SEU after a highly productive stint at Delta State University, where he served as Wide Receivers Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.
At Delta State, Bell’s receiver units were among the most productive in the region and nationally. His groups posted multiple 2,000+ yard seasons, including 2,775 yards and 34 touchdowns in 2023 during a 10–2 campaign that ended in a playoff berth. Delta State captured the 2023 Gulf South Conference Championship while averaging 42.9 points per game, ranking among the top scoring offenses in NCAA Division II. Over his time with the program, his wide receiver room combined for more than 6,300 yards and 53 touchdowns, producing six all-conference selections and national recognition for multiple players.
Prior to Delta State, Bell spent the 2022 season at Kentucky Christian University as Wide Receivers Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. The Knights’ offense jumped from 19.5 to 27.5 points per game, while the passing attack rose from 39th to 12th nationally. He also coached first-team all-conference receiver Karon Taylor.
Bell began his coaching career at his alma mater, Union Commonwealth University, immediately after graduating in 2018. There he held multiple roles including Associate Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, and Recruiting Coordinator while coaching nearly every offensive skill position. His offense produced NAIA All-American Isaiah Wright, and he mentored all-conference performers during his tenure.
As a player, Bell was a two-year starting quarterback at Union Commonwealth. He was a team captain and first-team all-conference selection, finishing his senior season with nearly 3,000 yards of total offense and 30 touchdowns. He was also named to the Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame All-Commonwealth Team.
Bell earned a bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion, Human Performance, and Educational Studies in 2018 and a Master of Science in Athletic Administration in 2020.
He and his wife, Hannah, now join the SEU community as he takes the reins of the Fire offense.
