PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Southeastern University women's cross country claimed the team title at the BUF Eagle Cross Country Meet with a dominant performance that saw the Fire place nine runners inside the top 11.
Southeastern finished with 17 points, comfortably ahead of runner-up Gulf Coast State College with 48. Enterprise State Community College finished third with 81 points, followed by Chipola College with 110 and Wallace Community College with 135.
Izzy Colebank led a sweep of the top three positions for the Fire, winning the individual title with a time of 19:14.80. Joslyn Armstrong followed in second at 19:27.10, while Kate Molloy crossed the line third in 19:58.10 to give Southeastern each of the first three finishers.
Gracie McGee and Elise Porter completed the Fire's five scoring positions, placing fifth and sixth with times of 20:12.80 and 20:24.60, respectively. Southeastern's five scorers all finished inside the top six overall.
The Fire's depth continued behind the scoring five, with Ashlyn Poulin finishing seventh in 20:25.50 and Jadyn DeVerna taking eighth in 20:26.20. Ashlin Price followed in ninth at 20:30.70, Skyla Stevens placed 10th in 20:37.00, and Sarina Mays finished 11th in 20:56.00.
Juliet Letherbarrow rounded out Southeastern's finishers with a time of 26:21.90 to place 24th.
Southeastern finished the meet with 10 runners among the top 11 attached collegiate finishers, including each of the first three across the line, to secure the team victory by 31 points.
Next, the Fire head to the Ave Maria Invitational. Set for a 6:30 p.m. start on Oct. 9.
