PANAMA CITY, Fla. — It was a clean sweep for Southeastern University men's cross country at the BUF Eagle Cross Country Meet, as the Fire captured each of the first 10 individual positions and posted a perfect team score of 15.
Spencer Louis led the Fire, winning his first career individual title in 26:12.50. Jeremy Durbin crossed just over 10 seconds later to take second in 26:22.60, while Kaleb Mellott secured third with a time of 26:39.21.
Southeastern completed its perfect score with Nathan Jucha and Billy Mueller finishing fourth and fifth, respectively. Jucha crossed in 26:48.30, while Mueller finished in 27:04.20, giving the Fire all five scoring positions before another team had a runner across the line.
The Fire were far from finished. Tobias Dickerson took sixth in 27:20.10, Aiden Stout followed in seventh at 27:22.50, and Luke Van Scoy placed eighth in 27:28.00. Byron Phillips and Levi Gustafson completed Southeastern's sweep of the top 10 with times of 28:33.21 and 28:57.00, respectively.
Christopher Rohrs added a 12th-place finish in 30:37.10, Tyler Martelly took 15th in 30:50.50, Gabriel Arce-Gonzalez placed 17th in 31:58.80, and Tyler Moody rounded out Southeastern's lineup in 22nd at 34:37.20.
Southeastern's 15 points gave the Fire a 36-point victory over Enterprise State Community College, which finished second with 51. Wallace Community College placed third with 74 points.
Up next for the Fire is the Ave Maria Invitational, set to start at 7:15 p.m. on Oct. 9.
