LAKE WORTH, Fla. — Southeastern closed out the 2026 Sun Conference Championship with a third-place finish, posting a three-round total of 932 (+68) at Fountains Country Club.
The Fire put themselves in contention early with rounds of 298 (+10) and 301 (+13) over the first two days, sitting firmly in the top three entering the final round. A difficult closing day resulted in a 333 (+45), but Southeastern maintained its position on the leaderboard behind team champion SCAD Savannah (897, +33) and runner-up Keiser (902, +38).
Throughout the tournament, Southeastern showcased a balanced and consistent approach. The Fire ranked third in all three primary scoring categories—Par 3 (3.37), Par 4 (4.47), and Par 5 (5.27)—while also finishing third in both total birdies (26) and pars (147). That steady production across the lineup kept SEU competitive across all three rounds.
Individually,
Sadaly Campbell delivered one of the top performances of the week, finishing third overall at 223 (+7). Campbell remained near the top of the leaderboard from start to finish, opening with an even-par 72 and following with a 73 (+1) before closing with a 78 (+6). Her consistency stood out statistically, leading the field with 40 pars and tying for the fewest double bogeys or worse (1). She also ranked second in par-4 scoring (4.10) and tied for fifth in par-3 scoring (3.08).
Alejandra Cuellar added a top-10 finish for the Fire, tying for 10th at 233 (+17). Cuellar was one of the most aggressive scorers in the field, finishing tied for second with eight birdies while also ranking tied for second in par-5 scoring (4.83).
Emma Tobias finished 14th at 235 (+19), showing steady play through the first two rounds to remain in the top five entering the final day.
Abbey Peterson (t-23rd, 246, +30) and
Savannah Thessing (28th, 251, +35) rounded out the Southeastern lineup.
SCAD Savannah's Yunyi Luo earned medalist honors at 214 (-2), the only player in the field to finish under par. Keiser's Sophia Sindersberger placed second at 220 (+4), with Campbell securing third.
Southeastern now turns its attention to the postseason, awaiting a potential at-large selection to the NAIA National Championship. The national tournament is set for May 19–22 at Eagle Crest Golf Club in Ypsilanti, Michigan, where the Fire will look to extend their season.
