Fire Set for NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships in Gainesville

Fourteen Fire athletes will represent SEU at the three-day championship

LAKELAND, Fla. -- SEU Track & Field will join the nation's top NAIA indoor track and field athletes  in North Central Florida this week as the 2026 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships take place March 5–7 at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center at Celebration Pointe.

Now in its 61st year for the men and 46th year for the women, the national championship features three days of competition across sprints, distance races, relays, jumps, throws, and race walk events as programs from across the country compete for the NAIA's coveted Red Banner.

Southeastern will be represented by 14 athletes across both the men's and women's championships, competing in 14 individual events and three relays over the three-day meet.

Southeastern Men

The Fire men will be led by a group competing in the 4x400-meter relay, which enters the championship with a qualifying time of 3:17.10. The relay unit includes Cedric Johnson Jr., Dario Laing, Kevin Davis Jr., Trebreh Brown, and Derion Ayliffe.

Individually, Dario Laing will compete in the 60-meter hurdles, entering with a time of 8.08 seconds, while senior Isaiah Burns represents Southeastern in the long jump with a qualifying mark of 7.10 meters.

Southeastern will also be represented in the 3000-meter race walk by Kodi Quimby and Nathaniel Chenowith. Quimby enters with a seed time of 13:56.64, while Chenowith qualified with a time of 14:23.73.

In total, the Fire men bring four individual entries and one relay to the national meet.

Southeastern Women

The Southeastern women feature the largest Fire contingent in Gainesville, highlighted by several athletes competing in multiple events.

Freshman Olga Gomez leads the way with four events, qualifying for the 60-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 60-meter hurdles, and the 4x400-meter relay. Gomez enters the championships with seed times of 7.49 in the 60 meters, 24.10 in the 200, and 8.74 in the hurdles.

Senior Maci Mills will compete in the 800-meter run, entering with a qualifying time of 2:12.37, and will also run on the 4x400-meter relay. Fellow senior Antiana Walsh joins Gomez in the 200 meters while also competing on the relay squad.

In the field events, Charlotte Cattermole-Williams qualified for the weight throw with a mark of 18.37 meters, while Alyssa Morley will compete in the long jump after posting a qualifying mark of 5.79 meters.

Southeastern will also have three competitors in the 3000-meter race walk with Ashlyn Poulin (14:17.69), Jocelyn Rivera, and Juliet Letherbarrow representing the Fire.

Relay competition will include the women's 4x400-meter relay featuring Areeyanna Bonds, Maci Mills, Olga Gomez, and Antiana Walsh, with Isabella Lehtinen available as an alternate. The Fire will also compete in the women's 4x800-meter relay with Skyla Stevens, Caroline Van Utrecht, Riley McKinney, and Jadyn DeVerna.

Overall, the Fire women enter the meet with 10 individual entries and two relay teams.

Championship Schedule

Competition begins Thursday, March 5, with preliminary rounds in relay and distance events, and continues through Saturday, March 7, when national champions will be crowned and team titles awarded.
