GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Southeastern women continued their dominance on the conference stage, capturing their sixth consecutive title at the 2026 Sun Conference Indoor Championship. The Fire totaled 291 points across all 21 scored events, finishing well ahead of the field to extend their run atop the league standings.
On the men's side, Southeastern placed second overall with 162 points, finishing behind St. Thomas (Fla.) while separating from the rest of the conference field.
Women Claim Sixth Straight Title
The Fire women delivered a complete team performance, combining event victories, podium finishes, and depth across the track and field disciplines.
Charlotte Cattermole-Williams led the way with a dominant performance in the weight throw. Her mark of 18.37 meters earned the conference title, set a new championship meet record, and moved her to No. 3 in the NAIA this season. The throw stands as the top mark in program history and met the NAIA "A" standard. She has now broken the school record in six of her last seven competitions.
In the relays, the women's 4x800m team of
Skyla Stevens, Skyler Van Utrecht,
Maci Mills, and
Jadyn DeVerna claimed first place in 9:30.79, a Sun Conference-leading time and NAIA "B" standard performance that ranks sixth in program history.
The 4x400m relay squad of
Olga Gomez,
Areeyanna Bonds,
Maci Mills, and
Antiana Walsh finished second in 3:51.23. The time met the NAIA "A" standard, ranks seventh all-time at SEU, and established a new all-time meet record.
Maci Mills added an individual conference title in the 600m dash (1:35.10), earning a Sun No. 2 mark and NAIA "B" standard while moving to No. 2 in program history.
Alyssa Morley secured gold in the triple jump (11.14m), and
Madison Bates won the pole vault (3.25m).
Southeastern also showed depth in the distance and combined events. The Fire placed three athletes in the top five of both the women's 3000m and 1000m races.
Jessica Brown finished second in the pentathlon with 2,788 points, ranking fourth in program history, while
Grace Coggins added a fifth-place finish. In the weight throw,
Emma Terry (third, 15.38m) and
MarieAnge Moussignac (fifth, 14.77m) added key points.
Men Finish Runner-Up
The men compiled 162 points to secure second place overall, highlighted by strong efforts in the field events and relays.
Jeremiah Rutledge cleared 2.01 meters in the high jump to place second while breaking the SEU school record. His mark ranks No. 2 in the conference this season and No. 1 in program history.
The men's 4x800m relay team of
Levi Gustafson,
Spencer Louis,
Tobias Dickerson, and
Noah Joos finished second in 8:05.52. The 4x400m relay quartet of
Cedric Johnson Jr.,
Dario Laing,
Kevin Davis Jr., and
Trebreh Brown also placed second in 3:17.10, meeting the NAIA "B" standard.
In the weight throw,
Lucky Baldwin placed third (14.83m) and
Cody Rand added a fifth-place finish (14.04m). On the track,
Jack Brooks recorded two podium finishes, taking third in the 1000m (2:32.93) and third in the mile (4:22.13), while
Kaleb Mellott finished fourth in the mile.
Josiah Dunlap added a fifth-place finish in the heptathlon.
Southeastern now turns its attention to the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships, scheduled for March 5–7 at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center in Gainesville. The three-day national meet will feature qualifiers from across the NAIA competing in a full slate of running, relay, field, and combined events.
