ORLANDO, Fla. — The Southeastern University cheer team turned in a historic performance over the weekend, recording the best national finish in program history with a fourth-place result in the Open All Girl Division at the UCA College Nationals, held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
The Fire advanced to Sunday's finals after posting a score of 73.4 during Saturday's semifinal round, finishing among the top nine teams to qualify for the championship round. SEU continued its momentum on Sunday, improving its score to 74.4 in the finals to secure its highest placement ever at the national competition.
The appearance marked Southeastern's first trip to UCA Nationals since 2023, and the team made a strong statement in its return by competing toe-to-toe with some of the nation's top collegiate cheer programs.
Northwest Community College claimed the national championship in the Open All Girl Division, closing out a highly competitive weekend.
