Fire Finish 11th in Deep Innisbrook Field

No. 18 Southeastern holds steady with back-to-back 302s against seven NAIA Top-25 opponents

PALM HARBOR, Fla. -- The SEU Men's Golf team battled through a loaded field at The Invite at Innisbrook, finishing 11th overall with a three-day total of 902 (+50). Ranked No. 18 in the latest NAIA poll, the Fire opened with a 298 in Round One before posting 302 in each of the final two rounds. The Copperhead Course challenged the entire field, which included seven nationally ranked programs, with No. 3 Keiser winning the title at 856 (+4).

Individually, Zach Shaw led the Fire with a tie for 14th at 220 (+7). Shaw opened with an even-par 71 before adding rounds of 73 and 76, finishing inside the top 15 of the 103-player field. Scott Starbuck closed strong with a final-round 73, ending at 226 (+13) in a tie for 39th.

Marley Read tied for 48th at 228 (+15), highlighted by a second-round 74. Spencer McCranie tied for 56th at 230 (+17), rebounding with a 75 on the final day. Cody Williams rounded out the Fire lineup with a tie for 74th at 233 (+20).

The Fire's steady play kept them ahead of No. 21 Point and just five shots back of the top 10. The tournament featured standout performances at the top, with Ave Maria's Ty Kaufman earning medalist honors at 208 (-5), while Keiser placed three golfers in the top five.
