"Our goal is to play in honor of Sarah's life while also raising awareness and support in the battle against breast cancer," said SEU head coach
Kayla Watkins. "Sarah's faith, love, and light inspired everyone she met—and this game is our way of keeping that light shining."
A special event graphic and t-shirt design will be shared on SEU Softball's social media platforms leading up to the game, encouraging the community to come together to celebrate Sarah's legacy of faith, courage, and compassion.
About Sarah's Story
Sarah Elisabeth Campbell-Walters went to her eternal home with Jesus at the age of 24 after courageously battling Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer. Deeply rooted in her faith, family, and community, Sarah lived every day with the mission of reflecting Christ's love to those around her.
In her first year of teaching, Sarah quickly became known to her students as their "second mom," embodying the grace, joy, and patience that marked her faith. Even through her most difficult moments, she remained steadfast in her belief, serving as a light to everyone she encountered. The SEU Softball program was among those who helped keep Sarah's flame burning brightly, and now, through this game, her legacy of love and purpose will continue to inspire.
