Men's Soccer Set for Pivotal Sun Conference Week

Southeastern will face No. 6 Keiser Wednesday before visiting New College on Saturday

LAKELAND, Fla. -- SEU Men's Soccer faces two defining Sun Conference showdowns this week as the Fire continue their push toward the postseason. The team opens the stretch with a Wednesday night home matchup against No. 6 Keiser at 7 p.m. at the SEU Soccer Field, followed by a Saturday afternoon road trip to Sarasota to take on New College of Florida at 1 p.m. Both contests carry major implications in the conference standings, giving Southeastern a crucial opportunity to climb toward the top four and strengthen its postseason outlook.

Fans can follow all the action live on the Urban Edge Network App or online at fire.seu.edu/watchUEN, with real-time stats available at fire.seu.edu/sidearmstats/msoc/summary. Back on Track and Burning Bright
The Fire enter the week at 4-4-3 overall and 2-1-1 in Sun Conference play, showing renewed consistency as the regular season turns toward its final stretch. Southeastern has found its rhythm on the road—posting a 4-1-1 record away from home—and now turns its attention to earning that elusive first home win of the season. Averaging 2.00 goals per match while conceding just 1.45, the Fire have struck a strong balance between attacking creativity and defensive discipline, making them a threat on both sides of the pitch.

Heating Up the Race: Postseason Push
With only four regular-season matches remaining, SEU finds itself squarely in the postseason hunt. The Fire currently sit fourth in the Sun Conference standings (2-1-1, 7 points), well within reach of securing a home match in the opening round of the Sun Tournament. The league's postseason format adds weight to every result—the top two seeds earn first-round byes, while the third and fourth seeds host quarterfinal matches. SCAD Savannah (4-0) and Keiser (3-0) lead the way for the byes, with St. Thomas (3-1) and Southeastern close behind. New College (2-2) and Florida Memorial (1-1-1) round out the top six, holding the final postseason spots.

Goal Machine: Dieng on the Double
Jman Dieng continues to be the Fire's offensive catalyst, leading the team with six goals and two assists for 14 total points. A proven finisher with a knack for timing his runs to perfection, Dieng has converted over half of his shots and tallied two game-winning goals this season.

Full Throttle: Cajuste Ignites the Attack
Carson Cajuste brings relentless pace and power to the Fire's front line. Ranking second on the team with four goals, Cajuste's ability to stretch defenses and create space has made him a constant danger in transition.

The Maestro: Viserta Conducts the Rhythm
Guilherme Viserta has been the orchestrator in the middle of the park, setting the tempo for Southeastern's offensive flow. Leading the team with six assists, Viserta's sharp passing and vision have fueled the Fire's attack all season long.

Impact Player: De Paula Delivers
With three goals and one assist in just seven appearances, Fabio De Paula has given the Fire another clinical finisher up top. De Paula's combination of technical skill and smart movement has added versatility to SEU's offense, allowing the Fire to attack with multiple scoring threats from different positions.

Middle Man Magic: Londono Leads the Link-Up
In the heart of midfield, Miguel Londono has been the glue that holds Southeastern's system together. With two goals and one assist, Londono's balanced play and calm decision-making have kept the Fire organized while maintaining fluid movement from back to front.

Safe Hands: Murray-Hawkins Holds the Line
Goalkeeper Noah Murray-Hawkins has provided stability and confidence for the Fire defense all season long. In nine starts, he has compiled a 1.00 goals-against average, a .774 save percentage, and two shutouts, helping the Fire stay competitive in tight matches.

Seahawk Showdown: Keiser Comes to Lakeland
Wednesday's matchup against No. 6 Keiser represents one of the toughest challenges of the season. The Seahawks remain unbeaten at 10-0-1, outscoring opponents 38–4 behind a powerful offense led by Mikael Baisotti (7 goals, 3 assists) and anchored by goalkeeper Santiago Nebot (0.33 GAA, .842 save percentage).

Keiser holds a 19-7-5 all-time series advantage over Southeastern, but the Fire enter this meeting with confidence after a dramatic 2-1 double-overtime win over the Seahawks in last year's Sun semifinal.

Banyan Battle: Fire Travel to Sarasota
On Saturday, Southeastern travels to New College of Florida for a conference matchup with one of the league's most explosive teams. The Banyans have surged to a 9-2-1 record, averaging 3.83 goals per match behind standouts Cameron Johnson (11 goals) and Ducamel Jeannestin (9 goals).

The Fire earned a 3-1 victory in last year's meeting in Lakeland—the first in series history—and will look to repeat that success in their first trip to Sarasota. With both programs fighting for postseason positioning, this weekend's clash could play a major role in shaping the final Sun standings.

Next Stop: Warner and the Road Ahead
Looking ahead, the Fire will close their road swing on Saturday, October 25, when they travel to Warner for a 7 p.m. kickoff in Lake Wales. Southeastern will look to continue its strong away form—4-1-1 on the road this season—and finish October on a high note before returning home for the regular-season finale. With the postseason firmly within reach, the Fire are focused and fueled for the stretch run, ready to turn momentum into a statement finish.
