MOBILE, Ala.—The first semifinal appearance for the Southeastern women's tennis team ended with a 4-1 loss to Georgia Gwinnett on Friday.
Southeastern ended its season with a 14-8 overall record.
The Grizzlies cruised to the doubles point, blanking the Fire in all 17 games played.
Simone Simas was responsible for the win for the Fire in singles play at Line 4, winning 6-4, 6-0 over Cassiday Mataia.
Women's tennis became the sixth program at Southeastern to reach a national semifinal and did so in just their second NAIA National Championship Tournament appearance.
