LAKELAND, Fla.- The Southeastern University women's tennis team pressed the No. 5 SCAD-Savannah Bees early, but ultimately fell 7-0 to close out the 2021 campaign.
The Fire got off to a strong start in doubles' play, with leads of 4-2 at the second line and 5-1 at the top line. However, the Bees responded to the second line 6-4 and the top line in a tiebreaker 7-5 to sweep all three lines.
SCAD quickly secured the match with a trio of two-set victories at singles' lines six, three, and two.
Junior
Priscila Baptista forced a tiebreaker after taking set number two 6-2. Baptista battled to the end, dropping the extra session 10-5.
This marked the final collegiate match for SEU seniors
Gabby Marshall and
Angelique Myrtil.
The Fire finished the 2021 campaign 6-7 on the season, including 3-4 in Sun Conference play.
