Lakeland, Fla,- The Southeastern University men's and women's tennis teams faced off against Walsh University today where the men grabbed their first victory of the season by a score of 6-1 and the women fell to 3-4 on the season with a 5-2 loss.
 
For the men, doubles pair 
Theodor Preiswerk and Alexandre D'aborille got the Fire rolling with their 6-3 win followed by another 6-3 doubles victory by 
Santiago Haas and 
Felipe Barbosa to put the Fire up 1-0 going into singles play. The Fire dominated the Cavaliers in singles play after forfeiting only one loss. Preiswerk gained his second victory of the day after winning his singles match 6-1 and 6-3. 
Tyler Glowaki added to the Fire lead with his 6-4 and 6-3 victory followed by another Barbosa win (6-0, 6-3) to put the Fire ahead 4-1. Two more Fire wins by D'aborille (6-4, 6-4) and Martinez (6-4, 5-7, 11-9) then closed out the Fire victory and moved the Fire to 1-4 this season.
 
A doubles victory by Priscilla Baptista and 
Gabby Marshall over the Cavaliers one and two players by a score of five sets to two got the Fire off to a strong start but the Fire were unable to secure the doubles point after dropping the next two matches. 
Beatrice Letizia took down her opponent 6-0 and 6-4 and 
Abigail Damon came out victorious in three sets to secure two wins for the Fire but it would prove insufficient as the Fire fell 2-5 to the Cavaliers giving them a 3-4 record on the season.
 
The men and women will face off against Judson University tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. on their home courts in Lakeland.
