LAKELAND, Fla.- The No. 21 Southeastern University women's tennis team impressed last night with a dominant win over an NCAA Division II institution. The Fire downed the Davenport University Panthers 6-1 at the USTA National Tennis Center.
After dropping the second line of doubles' play, the Fire rattled off wins at the third and top lines to clinch the doubles' point over the Panthers. The 6-4 win by
Sharienne Ricardo and
Angelique Myrtil secured the tally for Southeastern.
The Fire made swift work of the Panthers in singles' action. Sophomore
Beatrice Letizia only dropped one game in her two-set victory in the second position.

Mia Dunagan earned another two-set win at the sixth line to put the Fire ahead 3-0.

Priscila Baptista clinched the match for Southeastern at the No. 5 line in two sets.
Baptista and Letizia improved to 7-1 each at their respective singles' lines with their wins.
Ricardo and freshman
Nadezda Bijelic also earned two-set victories at the top and third lines of singles.
The Fire return to Sun Conference play tomorrow, as they host the Webber International University Warriors. Match time at the Beerman Family Tennis Complex is set for 1:00 p.m.
