Baseball Named Top Seed in Lincoln Bracket

KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Southeastern is heading to its ninth NAIA Baseball National Tournament Opening Round and will do so at its ninth different venue.
 
The top-ranked Fire will be the No. 1 seed in the five-team Lincoln Bracket hosted by Doane University which starts Monday at Sherman Field.
 
The Fire are 48-6 on the season and were ranked first in every installment of the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll. Winning The Sun Conference Tournament title for the fourth consecutive year got the Fire an automatic spot in the field of 46.
 
Host Doane is the No. 2 seed with a 38-12 record and were ranked 19th in the final coaches' poll. University of Science & Arts is the No. 3 seed and Mount Mercy and St. Francis (Ill.) round out the bracket as the No. 4 and No. 5 seed, respectively.
 
Southeastern will play Monday at 7 p.m. Eastern against the winner of the Mount Mercy vs. St. Francis game to be played that morning.
