Five Student Athletes Named University Honors Scholars

    Throughout the year students put in the necessary work to reach the pinnacles of studying success, going above and beyond. Student-Athletes put in double the work to excel in their game as well as their studies, five particular student-athletes achieved University Honors Scholars titles for their work in school at Southeastern.

    Softball pitcher Autumn Hunter and catcher Alex Hilton received this title for their studies. Hunter turned in a research study titled 'Effect of FGF21 and Metadoxine Administration on Cognitive Function of Mice after Acute Alcohol-Induced Inebriation' under the advisement of Dr. Laura Soluri. 

    Hilton completed her research study under the supervision of Professor Justin Nelson, her research is named 'Money Laundering and its Widespread Effect on the Integrity of the Church'.

    Baseball saw Alfonso Villalobos named University Honors Scholar for his completed work dubbed 'Transformative Leadership: From Insight to Impact', Villalobos's analysis and documentation was finished under the advisement of Professor Kaitlyn Barrett.

    Felipe Ledesma from men's cross country alongside Professor Caleb McGee turned in a work titled 'The Cultural Influence in Politics: Are Politics and Culture Intertwined or Culture has a Final Incident in Politics?' The completion of this research earned him University Scholars Honors.

    Emilia Harding who plays volleyball  completed her work under the supervision of Dr. Kristine Spinks, her research was named 'Determining Standardized Testing's Impact on College Success.'
