2021 NAIA Baseball Opening Round Lakeland Bracket Revealed

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The No. 2 Southeastern University baseball team knows who it will be hosting for the 2021 NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round Lakeland Bracket at the Chain of Lakes Complex in Winter Haven May 17-20. The league's national office released the Opening Round brackets Thursday evening.

 
The Fire will be the top-seeded team in the Lakeland Bracket after going 47-7 throughout the year. SEU became the first program since 2013 to sweep both The Sun Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships in a single season.

 
The Middle Georgia State University Knights will be the number two seed with an overall record of 34-19. The Knights received an at-large bid out of the Southern States Athletic Conference. The Fire advanced to the 2019 Avista-NAIA World Series out of the Macon Opening Round Bracket, which was hosted by MGSU.

 
The Bryan College Lions are the third-seeded squad in the Lakeland Bracket, posting a record thus far of 35-16. The Lions punched their ticket to the national postseason after winning their pod of the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament.

 
The University of South Carolina Beaufort Sand Sharks will be a quite familiar face as the fourth-seeded program, entering the bracket with a 31-21 record. Southeastern defeated USCB twice in The Sun Conference Tournament Championship Round to capture the TSC tourney crown. However, the Sand Sharks also own two victories over the Fire this season.

 
The Fisher College Falcons round out the Lakeland Bracket as the number five seed, registering a 31-20 record on the year. The Falcons earned a place in the Opening Round after finishing as the Association of Independent Institutions Tournament Runners-Up.

 
The Lakeland Bracket will be played in a double-elimination format with the winner advancing to the 2021 Avista-NAIA Baseball World Series in Lewiston, Idaho.
